The day after Election Day

Was up until 2:45 AM this morning when all signs were clear that Bush would win Ohio and the presidency.

Got the sniffles since last night.

Election Day

Voted for Kerry on Election Day. Waiting for the returns. Was asked for ID as I entered the polling station at New Utrecht High School. See the NYC Board of Elections FAQ. According to the FAQ, the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) requires only that ID be required for voters who registered by mail after January 1, 2003. I have been a registered voter since 1988 and therefore I do not need to be asked for ID either by the auxillary police officer or the poll worker.

Waiting for the returns tonight on TV and online.

Boondocks revisited

I wrote a letter to the New York Daily News today about the News' removal of the Boondocks strips and why they did not give an explanation to its readers. They responded:

Boondocks is on vacation...

I replied that it was false and I gave them six links which are given below:

Boondocks

Both the New York Daily News and Newsday print editions refuse to publish Boondocks for this week. In the case of the Daily News, a notice appeared in both Monday's and Thursday's paper saying, "Boondocks is on vacation and will return on September 27." No word, no debate on why the News refuses to publish the controversial strips, about a black-oriented reality TV program.
